The Mezcals

Four expressions. One maestro mezcalero. Zero shortcuts.

Each varietal is distilled from a single agave, roasted in an earthen pit and crushed by tahona — the way it has been done for three generations in our village in Oaxaca.

Heritage

We are not a marketing company that found a distillery.

Mr. Mezcal is a family — a founder, his brothers, and a maestro mezcalero in Oaxaca whose hands have made mezcal for decades. The operation is small on purpose. That is the advantage, not the weakness: when you pour Mr. Mezcal, you are pouring something a family stands behind by name.

Three generations

One family in one Oaxacan village. The maestro mezcalero learned from his father, who learned from his. Nothing about this is outsourced.

Single-source

Every bottle traces to our own palenque and our own agave. No blending plants, no buying juice on the open market, no industrial diffusers.

Made by hand

Agave roasted underground over wood and stone, crushed by tahona, fermented in open wood, twice-distilled in copper. Patience is the only machine.
